A Ghanaian man, Ebenezer Frimpong, has been arrested after allegedly stealing an armoured vehicle belonging to the Ghana Police Service from Nkawie Market in the Ashanti Region.
The incident occurred when the vehicle’s driver briefly stepped out of the armoured car, leaving the engine running — an opening Frimpong allegedly exploited by climbing in and driving off from the busy market area.
Security operatives launched an immediate pursuit upon receiving reports of the theft, tracking the suspect along the Nkawie–Mim route before intercepting and apprehending him near Mim in a coordinated operation by law enforcement officers.
The stolen armoured vehicle was recovered without damage.
Frimpong is currently in custody as authorities investigate the full circumstances of the incident.
