A Nigerian man, Muhammad Kabir, has sparked reactions online after publicly announcing his divorce from his wife, Bilkisu, through a Facebook post.
Kabir made the declaration on Sunday, June 14, 2026, stating that he had divorced his wife three times.
In the post, he wrote: “Me Muhammad Kabir, I divorce my wife Bilkisu 3 times divorce. Idiot.”
The statement appeared to reference the Islamic practice of triple talaq, in which a husband pronounces “I divorce you” three times to end a marriage.
The post has since generated widespread reactions on social media, with many users debating the appropriateness and validity of announcing a divorce through a social media platform.
