Man sent to prison for raping 13-year-old daughter

A Chief Magistrates’ Court sitting in the Ikeja area of Lagos State has remanded a 50-year-old man, Ramoni Seriki, in Kirikiri Correctional Centre for allegedly raping his 13-year-old daughter.

The Chief Magistrate, O. O Kushanu, ordered the remand of Seriki on Friday, June 27, 2025.

Kushanu refused to listen to the defendant’s plea and ordered his remand until September 11 for the advice of the Director of Public Prosecutor (DPP).

Earlier, the prosecutor, ASP Adegoke Ademigbuji, told the court that the offence was commited on June 18, 2025, at the defendant’s resident.

Ademigbuji said Seriki sexually molested his 13-year-old daughter while she was sleeping.

He added that the victim confided in her mother who had been separated from her father years ago.

According to him, the offence contravenes Section 137 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State, 2015.
