A Chief Magistrates’ Court sitting in the Ikeja area of Lagos State has remanded a 43-year-old man, Ifeanyi Paul, in Kirikiri Correctional Centre for allegedly raping his neighbour’s 16-year-old physically challenged daughter.

The man was remanded by the court on Friday, October 3, 2025.

Paul, who resides in the Ikotun area of Lagos, is charged with rape.

The prosecutor, ASP Adegoke Ademigbuji, told the court that the suspect committed the offence at his residence on July 24.

Ademigbuji said Paul, who took advantage of the girl, was apprehended by some neighbours and handed over to the police.

Ademigbuji added that the offence contravened the provisions of Section 261 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.

The Chief Magistrate, L.A Owolabi, who did not take Paul’s plea, ordered that the case file should be sent to the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) for legal advice.
