Manchester United forward, Marcus Rashford, escaped unhurt after being involved in a car crash on Saturday night.

The accident occurred after United had returned to their Carrington training base following their Premier League victory over Burnley.

The players returned to the training ground by team bus to take their own cars before setting off home.

Pictures and footage posted online in the aftermath of the incident showed the damage suffered by Rashford’s Rolls Royce.

It is understood emergency services attended the scene, but Rashford did not require medical attention, and no arrests were made.

Speaking in a post on his Instagram account, the player wrote: “3 points on the road! I’m alright guys thanks for the messages.”

A United spokesman said: “Marcus Rashford is fine and was not injured. It was an accidental collision as he left the training ground after returning from Burnley.

“It was an incident involving his car and one driven by a member of the public.

“Thankfully both were uninjured and no ambulance was required.”

The England international played the whole game at Turf Moor as United won 1-0.

Jonny Evans, who started for United for the first time since March 2015 having returned to the club as a free agent from Leicester City in the summer, set up Bruno Fernandes’ stunning winner in the first half with a wonderful ball over the top.

Speaking before the game, Rashford said: “One good result, one good performance, can be a game-changer at this club.

“It’s a difficult position and I’m not as happy as I’d like to be, but there’s only one way to get back this happiness is to seek results.

“We know the effect that a victory can have on the team and then it’s up to the players to show consistency.

“That’s what we lacked. Last year, we were very consistent at home, but very irregular away.”

Rashford owns three Rolls-Royces – the £700,000 Black Badge Wraith involved in the crash, a £390,000 Black Badge Cullinan, and just last month he bought a £560,000 Cullinan Blue Shadow.

Rashford also recently bought a £280,000 McLaren 765 Long Tail and a £350,000 Lamborghini Urus Performante.
