Bukayo Saka and Heung-Min Son starred as Arsenal and Tottenham could not be separated in a pulsating North London derby which ended in a 2-2 draw at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday.
The game began with Cristian Romero heading Saka’s shot into his own net as Arsenal controlled the opening exchanges, but Tottenham found a way back in with Son’s leveller three minutes before half-time after a superb save from David Raya denied Brennan Johnson.
Romero’s poor afternoon continued after half-time as his handball from Ben White’s goal-bound shot allowed Saka to re-establish the Gunners lead from the spot, but Spurs got an instant equaliser.
Jorginho, a half-time injury substitute for Declan Rice, dallied on the ball only for James Maddison to pinch his pocket. The midfielder rolled the ball to Son for a simple finish past Raya.
Kai Havertz and Saka went close to an Arsenal winner late on, while substitute Richarlison saw a deflected effort fall just wide in the 10th minute of stoppage time.

The derby draw leaves both sides four points behind Manchester City after six games, doing their early title credentials no favours.
Brentford host Arsenal in the Carabao Cup third round on Wednesday before the Gunners return to Premier League action at Bournemouth on Saturday, September 30.
Tottenham, on the other hand, host Liverpool in the Premier League on Saturday, September 30.
Meanwhile, Chelsea’s poor start to the Premier League season continued as Ollie Watkins’ fine strike saw Aston Villa to a 1-0 win over 10-player Blues.
Liverpool moved into second in the Premier League with a 3-1 win over West Ham, while Brighton climbed up to third after beating Bournemouth 3-1.
Mohamed Salah opened the scoring from the penalty spot after he was upended in the box by Nayef Aguerd.
West Ham’s only previous defeat this season came at home to City last weekend and they bounced back to fully merit their equaliser before half-time when Jarrod Bowen’s diving header found the far corner.
However, the Hammers were undone by a moment of magic when Alexis Mac Allister’s inch-perfect chip picked out Darwin Nunez, who volleyed into the far corner.
Diogo Jota then came off the bench to make it 3-1 five minutes from time.
