‘Maybe it’s AI’: Cross River lawmaker’s wife debunks alleged assault

Glory Agbor, wife of the lawmaker representing Obubra I constituency in the Cross River State House of Assembly, Dickson Agbor, has denied reports that her husband assaulted her.

A viral video had shown Glory with injuries, with claims that she had been beaten by the lawmaker during a domestic altercation.

The development triggered public outrage and led the Cross River State House of Assembly to suspend Agbor indefinitely over alleged violent conduct.

However, reacting in a fresh video posted online, Glory dismissed the claims, insisting that the reports were untrue.

She stated that no assault occurred, adding that the viral video might have been manipulated to damage her husband’s reputation.

Glory said the video could have been created or altered using artificial intelligence (AI) as part of attempt to blackmail the family and undermine the lawmaker politically.

Glory said: “I am out here to tell Nigerians and all persons both home and abroad that what has been online for the past four to three days is a false accusation and nothing of such actually happened.

“Maybe it is AI, or they want to use that to blackmail me and my husband. The election is around the corner, and maybe they want to use that one to bring him down. Nothing of the sort happened to me.

“Look at me, I am okay, I am good. Did you see any mark on my face or anything of such? Nothing of such ever happened.”
