Military declares 97 terrorists wanted

The Defence Headquarters (DHQ) has declared no fewer than 97 persons, including terrorists and insurgents, wanted for violent crimes in Nigeria.

One of those declared wanted by the military was a factional leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Simon Ekpa.

The DHQ recently vowed to release a new list of wanted terrorists and bandits, comprising their names and pictures, in the country.

It was gathered that the development followed the killing of top terrorists and bandit leaders on the watchlist of the military and the emergence of a new crop of leaders.

The troops of the Nigerian Army recently neutralised some top terrorists and bandit leaders in Katsina and Kaduna states.

However, the names and pictures of the wanted gunmen released by the military showed that 43 persons were declared wanted in the North-West, 33 persons in the North-East, and 21 South-East and North-Central.
