Mr Macaroni: Some critics collect money, award from govt

Popular Nigerian Comedian, Debo Adedayo, well known as Mr Macaroni, has lashed out at some people in the country for collecting money from Nigerian leaders after criticising the government officials.

Mr Macaroni said that some critics received award from government officials after they criticised some content creators, following their meeting with Vice President Yemi Osinbajo last year in Abuja.

The famous comedian said this in a series of tweets shared via his verified Twitter handle on Friday.

He wrote: “Government no good, government this and that… But Government award and money sweet to collect. Haba. Make una dey fear God ooo.

“When some content creators went with a show organizer to see the VP, I said on here and at various TV interviews that they did nothing wrong. They saw it as a chance to speak up and they did. Some of the people wey attack them pass don go collect Award from government. E choke.

“Even those wey we gather protest together don go collect their share. Aloota Continua!! Naija 4 Show!! Indeed, all man for himself.

“We have seen this play out time and time again. Everyone has a right to political affiliation. And that is the fact. I only appeal to you people, not to pretend to stand with Nigerians while u stab them at their backs. I rest my case.”

He added: “Abeg I no be anybody Hero ooo. I say this all the time. I don’t claim any accolades neither do I want them. I’m a Nigerian using my voice to speak for myself, generation and children unborn.

“Sometimes I get tired and ask myself why I am the way I am… I don’t have the answer.

“So nobody should call me Hero oo. Abeg! We know Wetin dem dey use eyes of Hero see.
Please dear.

“Meanwhile you are in front risking it all. Abeg, make everybody dey their dey.

“Everybody go dey shout we want better nation. Some people dey back dey collect better money. If you condemn such acts they will say u are setting your colleagues up to be hated by the people,” the popular comedian said.

Mr Macaroni had in November 2021 refused to join his colleagues to meet with the Prof. Yemi Osinbajo at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

Other top Instagram comedians, who met with Osinbajo, were criticized by a cross-section of Nigerians.

Mr Macaroni said he rejected the invitation to meet with the Vice President because he was not happy with Nigerian leaders, adding that he didn’t want to be associated with them.
