N6.3bn fraud: We’ll appeal ex-Gov Jang, Pam’s acquittal ― EFCC

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission says it has initiated an appeal against the judgement of a Plateau State High Court sitting in Jos which discharged and acquitted a former governor of the state, Air Commodore Jonah Jang (rtd), over the N6.3 billion corruption charges preferred against him by the EFCC.

The EFCC spokesperson, Wilson Uwujaren, made this known via a statement issued on Friday.

The Plateau State High Court discharged and acquitted a Jang and former cashier in the office of the Secretary to the Plateau State Government, Yusuf Pam, on Friday.

Jang and Pam have been standing trial since May 4, 2018, after the EFCC dragged the duo to court over 17 count charges bothering on diversification and misappropriation of state funds.
