NAF airstrikes hit terrorist enclaves in Borno

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) says it has destroyed terrorist hideouts in the Southern Tumbuns area of Borno State during a targeted air operation.

In a statement issued on Saturday, NAF spokesperson, Ehimen Ejodame, said the strike was carried out on Friday evening over Ali Sheriffti, identified as a known insurgent enclave.

According to him, the operation followed credible intelligence on terrorist activities in the area, prompting a surveillance mission that tracked suspected fighters moving along concealed routes to structures hidden under thick vegetation.

He said the air force, after confirming the targets, launched a precision strike using onboard munitions, successfully destroying the identified hideouts.

Ejodame noted that the operation significantly disrupted the movement and operational capacity of the insurgents in the area.

He added that the strike reflects the NAF’s continued reliance on intelligence-led and precision-based operations to deny terrorist groups safe havens.

The Chief of the Air Staff, Sunday Aneke, reaffirmed the force’s commitment to sustaining pressure on terrorist networks, stressing that operations would be intensified to enhance national security.

He said the air force remains determined to dismantle terrorist enclaves and protect lives and property across the country.
