Naira dips slightly at official market, settles at N1,343.6

The Naira ended the week on a mildly negative note at the official foreign exchange market, depreciating to N1,343.63 against the U.S. dollar on Friday.

Data from the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) showed the local currency shed N1.33, representing a 0.09 percent decline from Thursday’s rate of N1,342.30 to the dollar.

The slight reversal snapped a two-week appreciation streak the Naira had sustained before Friday’s dip.

The currency opened the week at N1,356.18 on Monday before recovering to N1,343.76 on Tuesday and holding steady at N1,343.74 on Wednesday.
