NDLEA foils Beninese’s attempt to smuggle drugs into Nigeria, arrests 72-year-old woman in Delta

The operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have intercepted a 26-year-old Beninese, Vode Jean-Luck, while trying to smuggle 69 balls of skunk, a strain of cannabis, from Benin Republic into Nigeria.

The NDLEA Director of Media and Advocacy, Femi Babafemi, disclosed this via a statement issued on Sunday, June 29, 2025.

Babafemi said the Beninese was intercepted at the Seme border area of Badagry in Lagos State on Tuesday, June 24.

Babafemi stated that a notorious drug dealer, Mary Bolanle Oladele (a.k.a Iya Nafi), was also arrested on Wednesday, June 25, when NDLEA operatives raided her base in Omu-Aran in Irepodun Local Government Area of Kwara State where various quantities of skunk, tramadol, and flunitrazepam were recovered from her.
