The operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have intercepted no fewer than 335,820 tablets of Tramadol, Exol 5, Diazepam, and Rohypnol as well as 400 bottles of codeine syrup concealed in bags of vegetables in Abuja.
The drugs loaded in a hummer passenger bus coming from Enugu were intercepted by the NDLEA officers on Monday, May 30.
This was disclosed via a statement issued and made available to The Star on Sunday by NDLEA spokesman, Femi Babafemi.
Babafemi stated that the bus driver, Augustine James, aged 35, is currently helping the agency with an investigation.

The NDLEA spokesperson added that 1,111kg of cannabis Sativa heading to the Orlu forest in Imo State which has become a fortress for non-state actors, was intercepted on Thursday, May 26.
Speaking on the arrest and seizure, the Chairman/Chief Executive of NDLEA, Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa (Retd), commended the anti-drug officers for sustaining the heat on drug cartels.
