NDLEA seizes UAE-bound drugs in wedding gown

The operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have intercepted two drug consignments concealed in a wedding gown and micro-controller going to United Arab Emirates (UAE).

The drug consignments consisting of ecstasy and skunk were concealed in a gold colour wedding gown and a micro-controller, respectively.

The NDLEA spokesperson, Femi Babademi, made the disclosure via a statement issued on Sunday, April 23.

Babafemi added that the NDLEA operatives acting on credible intelligence also intercepted a truck conveying 110 bags and 200 compressed blocks of Cannabis Sativa weighing 1.223 tons (1,223kg) in Zaria, Kaduna State, on Thursday, April 20.

The spokesperson of the anti-drug agency noted that the truck driver, Adekunle Olanrewaju, aged 32, and his 20-year-old assistant, Tunde Jamiu, were arrested.

Commending the anti-narcotic officers for the excellent job done, the NDLEA Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of NDLEA, Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa (Retd), charged them and their compatriots across the country to continue to raise the bar of professionalism in the daily discharge of their responsibilities.
