NSCDC officer kills colleague in Abuja

A Deputy Superintendent of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has accidentally shot and killed his colleague at Life Camp in Abuja.

This comes barely two days after eight NSCDC operatives were killed by gunmen suspected to be kidnappers in the Okpella area of Edo State.

Security analyst Zagazola Makama, citing sources, disclosed that an NSCDC officer, DSC Adekunle Emmanuel, was hit by a bullet on the left upper arm above the bicep at about 10 a.m. on Sunday, September 7, 2025.

The bullet was fired by a colleague while they were heading to a principal’s residence at Lias Estate from a hotel.

The victim was immediately taken to Maitama General Hospital, where doctors confirmed him dead.

His remains have since been placed in the hospital morgue for preservation and an autopsy.

Sources further revealed that the officer responsible for the shooting is in custody and being interrogated.
