The National Universities Commission (NUC) has approved two full-time undergraduate programmes for the Lagos State University (LASU).
The Deputy Registrar and Coordinator of the Centre for Information and Public Relations, LASU, Oluwayemisi Thomas-Onashile, made this known via a statement issued on Saturday, July 19, 2025.
Thomas-Onashile said the programmes would take off in the 2025/2026 academic session.
Thomas-Onashile listed the approved programmes as Music Education and Social Studies and Civic Education.
She stated that the approval was sequel to a recent verification visit to the university by a panel of experts saddled with assessing the availability of human and material resources for the proposed programmes.

According to the LASU official, the approval covers only the full-time delivery mode.
Thomas-Onashile noted that the NUC urged LASU to provide adequate human and material resources to ensure the development and sustainability of the programmes.
She added that the approval marked another milestone in the university’s ongoing drive to expand its academic offerings and improve access to quality teacher education.
