The Lagos State Police Command has arrested a member of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Shamsideen Adio, for allegedly beating a dispatch rider to death in the state.
Eyewitnesses disclosed that a disagreement broke out between Adio and the dispatch rider on Wednesday after the rider allegedly scratched Adio’s vehicle on Tapa Street, Lagos Island.
The confrontation reportedly escalated when Adio, joined by his colleagues, attacked the victim.
A journalist, Chris Nwandu, who shared a video of the incident on Facebook on Thursday, September 18, 2025, stated that Adio was notorious for attacking road users in the area, including tricycle operators.
