Official: Dangote Refinery’ll end fuel scarcity with 650,000 bpd

The Dangote Refinery says it will resolve perennial fuel scarcity in Nigeria with its 650,000 barrel per day (bpd) production capacity.

The General Manager, Dangote Sugar, North, Abdulsalam Waya, stated this during the Dangote Group Special Day at the ongoing 44th Kaduna International Trade Fair in Kaduna on Saturday.

Waya said the integrated refinery would soon commence production, adding that Dangote Group was the biggest employer of labour outside the government, touching the lives of millions of Nigerians in many ways with its products.

“There is no household in the country that does not patronise neither dangote sugar, salt or cement.

“We have equally continued to boost the nation’s economy by investing heavily in agriculture and minerals resources,” he said.

According to him, these two sectors are strategic to the growth of the economy.

The Technical Sales Manager, Dangote Cement, Oligie Friday, said the company exported cement to 14 African countries while boosting Nigeria’s economy.

He said the Dangote Cement provided over 5,000 direct jobs, stressing that it had not defaulted in paying tax.

Also speaking, the Assistant General Manager, Sales and Marketing, Dangote Fertiliser, Agbana Oladele, said the company was currently blending three million tons of fertilisers for local consumption and export.

“We have not only improved crop production for Nigerian farmers, we have made the market very attractive and competitive,” Oladele stated.
