The Kano State Police Command has arrested multiple suspects following a violent clash between rival groups in Kano that resulted in one fatality.
The incident occurred around 10:30 p.m. on March 17 in the Jaen Unguwar Lalle area, reportedly after a reconciliation meeting between the groups broke down.
A distress call from a resident alerted police, prompting a swift response by a divisional patrol team.
Police operatives engaged the groups, restored calm, and apprehended two suspected ringleaders identified as Abubakar Abdullahi, 22, of Sabuwar Madina, and Abubakar Bello, also known as Babuji, 18, of Unguwar Lalle.
Three individuals sustained serious injuries during the clash and were taken to Murtala Muhammad Specialist Hospital for treatment.
One of the victims, Aliyu Abdullahi, 22, who suffered a severe neck injury, was later confirmed dead, while the others remain under medical care.
Subsequent police raids on suspected hideouts led to the arrest of eight additional suspects. Recovered items include a cutlass, a sword, and suspected charms.
Police authorities say investigations are ongoing, with further updates to be provided as developments unfold.
