Osinbajo: I’m not involved in auto crash

Contrary to reports, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo is not involved in car accident on his way to Abuja airport en route Owo, Ondo State.

There have been reports that Osinbajo’s vehicle got summersaulted along the airport road on Monday morning.

Speaking on the development, Osinbajo said: “Thank you all for the calls and concern, I was not involved in an accident. On my way to the airport to travel to Ondo, we ran into an accident scene. My security and medical teams assisted in removing the victims of the crash from the scene. They have been transported to the Airforce Base hospital.”

The spokesman of the vice president, Laolu Akande, earlier denied the reports.

The VP’s spokesman said Osinbajo only assisted a victim of road accident on his way to the airport.

He said: “On his way to the airport this morning, VP came across a road traffic accident, stopped to lend assistance, and ensured victim was taken to the hospital with VP’s convoy ambulance.

“He then proceeded on his trip and is now in Ondo State heading to site of yesterday’s attack in Owo,” Akande said.

The vice president is already in Owo to condole with the state government and the people over the terror attack on a Catholic church in the ancient town.

Over 50 worshippers died in the Sunday terror attack.
