Osupa, Malaika, 83 others set Guinness Record for largest Afrobeats Orchestra

Guinness World Records has confirmed that a concert featuring Fuji stars Saheed Osupa and KS1 Malaika alongside several Afrobeats artistes has set the world record for the largest orchestra performing Afrobeats.

The milestone was achieved during Trench Symphony: The Dapper Live Experience, held on December 16, 2025, at the Balmoral Convention Centre.

According to Guinness World Records, the concert featured 85 musicians performing together under a conductor in a coordinated orchestral arrangement built around an Afrobeats composition.

The performance also included a lead singer, choir, dancers and synchronised orchestral instrumentation, creating a fusion of Afrobeats, Fuji and orchestral music.

Announcing the achievement on its Instagram page, Guinness World Records confirmed that the event had been officially reviewed and verified.

“Glad to announce that Trench Symphony: The Dapper Live Experience has been officially reviewed, verified, and confirmed by Guinness World Records for the Largest Orchestra for an Afrobeats Concert,” the organisers said.

The concert featured performances from artistes including T.I Blaze, Rybeena, Bhadboi OML, Kashcoming, TML Vibez, Lasmid, Heis Cazulee and Dwillsharmony.

Organisers described the night as a powerful blend of Afrobeats, Fuji and orchestral brilliance.

“We didn’t just stage a concert. We rewrote the record books. Culture. Precision. History,” the organisers said in their statement.

Details published on the Guinness World Records website noted that the achievement was recorded by Dapper Music and its artistes during the concert in Lagos.

“The largest orchestra for an Afrobeats concert is 85 and was achieved by Dapper Live & Artists (Nigeria) in Lagos, Nigeria, on 16 December 2025,” the record body stated.

According to the organisers, the concert demonstrated how Afrobeats could be integrated with orchestral arrangements to create a large-scale musical performance that unites diverse sounds and audiences.

The event also highlighted the diversity of Nigeria’s music scene by combining elements of Fuji and Afrobeats with a full orchestral performance.

Dapper Live & Artists is associated with Nigerian music executive Damilola Akinwunmi, popularly known as Dapper, who has also been linked to celebrity chef and multiple Guinness World Records holder Hilda Baci.
