Oyo, Borno, Kwara, 5 others get new police commissioners

The Police Service Commission (PSC) has approved the appointment and deployment of Commissioners of Police to Oyo, Borno, Kwara, and five other state commands in the country.

The newly appointed Commissioners of Police are Godwin Aghaulor (Borno State Command); Adelesi E. Oluwarotimi (Kwara State Command); Adebola Ayinde Hamzat (Oyo State Command); Augustina Ogbodo (Ebonyi State Command); and Samuel Titus Musa (Kebbi State Command).

Others include Aderemi Olufemi Adeoye (Anambra State Command); Stephen Olarewaju (Imo State Command); and Alamatu Abiodun Mustapha (Ogun State Command).

The PSC spokesperson, Ikechukwu Ani, who made this known via a statement issued on Friday, June 30, 2023, quoted the commission’s chairman, Dr Solomon Arase, as saying the postings, as recommended by the acting Inspector General of Police (IGP), Kayode Egbetokun, was on the average and fair.

Arase, who commended the IGP for the inclusion of women, urged Egbetokun to consider the disadvantaged geopolitical zones while forwarding subsequent proposals for the PSC’s ratification.
