P-Square albums surge on Apple Music chart amid fresh rift

Music catalogue of the defunct P-Square group has recorded a resurgence on Nigeria’s Apple Music Albums Chart.

According to music chart platform Album Talks HQ, the duo’s compilation album, Best of P-Square, climbed to number 100 on the Nigeria Apple Music Albums Chart, rising 87 places.

The platform added that Get Squared and Game Over re-entered the chart at number 173 and number 182, respectively.

The renewed interest in the group’s catalogue comes amid renewed public attention surrounding the latest war of words between the P-Square duo – Peter and Paul.

The lingering dispute between the Okoye brothers has continued to generate reactions on social media, with fans revisiting some of their most popular works.

P-Square rose to prominence in the early 2000s and became one of Africa’s biggest music groups, releasing some timeless hits, including ‘Bizzy Body’, ‘Do Me,’ ‘Game Over’, and ‘Alingo’.

The group eventually splinted in 2017 over alleged financial disputes, creative control, and the role of their older brother and manager, Jude Okoye.

However, they briefly reunited in November 2021 before they split again in 2024 and went their separate ways to pursue solo careers, with Peter as Mr P and Paul as Rudeboy.
