Leaders of the Phase Two group under the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP) have reaffirmed their unwavering support for the programme’s Administrator, Dr. Dennis Otuaro, applauding his achievements and urging him not to be distracted by critics.
During a courtesy visit to the PAP office in Abuja on Friday, the National President of the Phase Two Camp Leaders, Mr. Salvation Ibena, praised Dr. Otuaro’s leadership, highlighting his inclusive policies and people-focused approach that have boosted confidence in the programme across the Niger Delta.
Ibena described Otuaro’s first year in office as “remarkable,” citing significant strides in expanding educational and vocational training initiatives and deepening stakeholder engagement.
He said the visit was meant to express gratitude and to encourage Otuaro to stay the course despite attempts by detractors to derail progress.
“You have done very well. Evidence abounds,” Ibena said.
“Do not be distracted by individuals or groups spreading falsehoods. Continue with the good plans you have for the programme and for your people.”
He also commended Otuaro for resolving long-standing issues affecting PAP beneficiaries, including biometric verification number (BVN) challenges, even though those issues predated his administration.
In his response, Dr. Otuaro expressed appreciation for the show of solidarity and reiterated his commitment to the peace and development of the Niger Delta.
He said the continued support from stakeholders reinforces the shared responsibility of driving the region toward stability and progress.
“I am truly humbled by your support and thank President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the opportunity to serve,” Otuaro said.
“We will continue to ensure judicious use of resources to expand educational and vocational opportunities for our people.”
The visit and remarks were detailed in a press statement by Mr. Igoniko Oduma, Special Assistant on Media to the PAP Administrator.
