Some members of the Board of Trustees (BoT) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) are currently meeting with Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, to resolve the crisis rocking the party ahead of the 2023 general election.
The PDP BoT members are meeting with Wike at the Government House in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital.
Among them are PDP BoT Acting Chairman, Adolphus Wabara, and a former Governor of Kogi State, Ibrahim Idris.
It was gathered that the emergency meeting convened by the PDP BoT was part of efforts by the main opposition party to pacify Wike and some aggrieved southern governors in the party.

Also at the meeting held in Enugu was Abia State Governor, Okezie Ikpeazu.
Governor Wike has been at loggerheads with the PDP National Chairman, Dr Iyorchia Ayu, over calls for the latter’s resignation.
The governor and his loyalists had called for the resignation of Ayu as a condition to campaign for the PDP presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, ahead of the 2023 polls, adding that the party’s chairman should step down for a southerner.
