The presidential flag-bearer of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, and other dignitaries, on Friday night, joined other worshippers at Dunamis International Gospel Centre, Abuja to pray for peace and security of the country.

Obi, who was given a hero’s welcome at the church with over 100,000 capacity, was accompanied by his campaign Director-General, Doyin Okupe.

In a video which surfaced online in the early hours of Saturday, the entire congregation went agog after the Labour Party presidential candidate was introduced by Becky Enenche, the wife of the Senior Pastor of the church, Dr Paul Enenche.

Addressing members of the church, Enenche said: “And we also have tonight, Mr Peter Obi who has joined for the service this evening.”

The entire church, however, erupted into clapping and screaming as they cheered him.

Thousands of worshippers had thronged the church for its ‘Mid-Year Praise and Worship Night’, to seek the face of God over the state of security and other challenges bedevilling the country.

The Senior Pastor of the church, while praying for the country, said Nigeria was at war with the forces of hell and prayer was a potent weapon to defeat them.

Reading from the book of Numbers 10:9-10, he prayed for the rebirth of the nation and a new Nigeria and prayed that the nation would not go down.

The pastor further urged Christians to continue to pray for the peace of the country.

The Dunamis auditorium, also known as ‘Glory Sanctuary’, with over 100,000 capacity was filled to the brim.
