The Lagos State Police Command has deployed four patrol teams to the Lagos–Calabar Coastal Road as part of a renewed security operation aimed at curbing criminal activities along the corridor.

The patrol teams are to operate on a 24-hour basis to ensure constant police visibility and enhance rapid response to security incidents on the highway.

The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Abimbola Adebisi, in a statement on Friday, February 20, 2026, said the initiative is aimed at improving safety for motorists, commuters, and workers along the highway.

Adebisi noted that the newly deployed teams will complement several patrol vehicles that have been stationed along the corridor since December 2025, as part of efforts to strengthen security presence and deter criminal acts on the Lagos–Calabar Coastal Road.
