The operatives of the Niger State Police Command have arrested a 25-year-old suspected informant and food supplier of kidnappers in Gwalo, Paikoro Local Government Area of the state.
The suspect, identified as Ibrahim Ali, was arrested by police operatives attached to Gawu-Babangida Division on Wednesday, February 1, 2023.
The Niger State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Wasiu Abiodun, disclosed this via a statement issued on Saturday.
Abiodun stated that Ali’s arrest followed the arrest of two suspected kidnappers at Lambata, Gurara Local Government Area of Niger State on January 27, 2023.

He said the suspected kidnappers’ informant confessed to the crime during interrogation and said he usually monitors targets for the gunmen.
The police spokesperson disclosed that the suspect further confessed that he also assisted the kidnappers to purchase foodstuffs such as rice, beans, millet, and alcohol.
Abiodun added that Ali was arrested with some quantity of raw rice and beans, which the suspect said he wanted to take to the kidnappers’ hideout in Gwalo forest in Niger State before their arrest.
He said the suspect will be arraigned in court for prosecution upon the conclusion of an investigation.
