Police arrest man for sodomising 2 boys at Quranic school

The operatives of the Bauchi State Police Command have arrested a 37-year-old man for allegedly abducting and sodomising two boys at a Quranic school in the state.

The command’s spokesperson, SP Ahmed Wakil, confirmed the arrest of the man in Bauchi on Monday, August 26, 2024.

Wakil said the command’s operatives, on receipt of a complaint of inhuman treatment, apprehended the suspect for alleged abduction and sodomising two Almajiri boys under his care at a Quranic school.

The police spokesperson said the suspect allegedly lured the first 12-year-old victim at a Quranic school in Kano to Daura under the pretence of starting a business.

“He then encountered the second 13-year-old victim, and brought them both to Bauchi, where he began abusing one of the boys inside a mosque,” Wakil disclosed.

Wakil said with an intelligence report, detectives attached to the Gamawa Divisional Police Headquarters, led by the Divisional Police Officer (DPO), were able to apprehend the suspect.

He added that the man would be prosecuted upon the conclusion of the investigation.

The police spokesman, however, appealed to the public to provide information that could help locate either the parents or guardians of the victims.
