The Bauchi State Police Command says it has arrested nine suspects and recovered stolen cattle, firearms, and vandalized property in three separate operations within the past week.
Command spokesperson CSP Ahmed Wakil, in a statement on Saturday, said two suspects were first arrested on August 14 in Maikwangi village, Ningi LGA, with 10 stolen cattle. The men confessed to rustling the herd from a Fulani settlement.
On August 16, police responded to a robbery attack in Madina Quarters and Fadaman Mada, where about 20 armed men raided several homes, stealing cash, electronics, and phones.
Five suspects, aged 18–35, were arrested, and weapons including a locally made revolver, a Dane gun, live ammunition, and machetes were recovered.
Later that night, two more suspects, aged 21 and 22, were caught vandalizing electricity poles at Dan-Dango village.
They were found with stolen aluminum wires and confessed to engaging in the act repeatedly, with two accomplices still at large.
Wakil commended officers for their swift actions and urged residents to remain vigilant and cooperate with security agencies to enhance public safety.
