Operatives of the Nigeria Police Force in Gombe State have arrested three suspected kidnappers following credible intelligence, security sources said on Friday.
The suspects were apprehended on Wednesday at about 10:00 p.m. during an operation carried out by police operatives in collaboration with local hunters.
The arrested individuals were identified as Mohammed Abubakar, 29; Mohammed Bello, 23; and Mohammadu Ali, 25. All three are residents of Galda Village in Fika Local Government Area.
According to sources, the suspects were allegedly planning to carry out a kidnapping operation at an undisclosed location in Bauchi State before they were intercepted by security operatives.
During interrogation, the suspects reportedly confessed to the planned abduction.
Police authorities said investigations are ongoing to uncover more details about the plot and identify other possible accomplices connected to the crime.
