Police probe sexual abuse of 12-year-old boy in Bauchi

The Bauchi State Police Command has initiated an investigation into an alleged case of criminal conspiracy and unnatural offences involving a 12-year-old boy.

CSP Ahmed Wakil, the Command’s Spokesman, disclosed this to journalists on Tuesday in Bauchi.

He stated that the case was reported on July 16 after the boy’s father filed a complaint at the ‘C’ Divisional Headquarters.

The father had noticed excrement on his son’s trousers multiple times, a concern corroborated by the boy’s mother.

Upon questioning, the boy revealed that three adult males had lured him into inappropriate acts.

Following the complaint, police detectives visited the scene, and the boy was taken to a specialist hospital in Bauchi for medical examination.

Wakil confirmed that two suspects have been arrested, while one remains at large.

During the preliminary investigation, a local watchman voluntarily reported observing one of the suspects chasing the boy on two occasions and later seeing the boy approach their residence.

The watchman intervened and informed the boy’s mother, leading to the child’s confession of being influenced and sexually assaulted.
