The Niger State Police Command has confirmed the recovery of the bodies of Reverend Father James Omeh, Parish Priest of Saint Anthony Catholic Church in Gulu, and Charity John, a staff member of Divine Mercy Hospital, Dutsen Kura, following a tragic road accident.
According to police sources, the incident occurred late on May 24, 2025, at about 10:00 p.m.
The victims were traveling in a white Hilux vehicle en route to Gulu via Lapai when, due to heavy rainfall and poor visibility, they missed their route and plunged into a flooded stream.
