Primaries: Lagos Rep floors Sanwo-Olu’s aide to secure Epe ticket

Mrs Remi Adebowale, the Special Adviser on Civic Engagement to Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Friday, lost her bid to represent Epe Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives.

Adebowale, who was backed by Governor Sanwo-Olu and his deputy, Obafemi Hamzat, was defeated by the lawmaker representing the constituency, Olawale Raji.

Raji, who is the Chairman, House Committee on House Services, polled 84 out of the 90 votes cast in the All Progressives Congress (APC) House of Reps primaries held at the Jubilee Chalet, Epe, on Friday.

The federal lawmaker had been engaged in a power tussle with the Lagos State Deputy Governor over political control of Epe.

Announcing the result, the Returning Officer, Mr. Wusu Shakiru, said Raji polled 84 votes while Adebowale and a former member of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mr. Segun Olulade, polled 03 votes each.
