‘Rig and die’: Charly Boy warns politicians ahead 2027 elections

Veteran Nigerian entertainer, Charly Boy, has warned politicians against manipulating results in the 2027 general election.

Charly Boy gave the warning in a recent interview with Rudolf Okonkwo on 90MinutesAfrica.

The 75-year-old entertainer said the 2027 election would be a defining moment for Nigeria, adding that the slogan for the nationwide poll is “rig and die”.

Charly Boy also stressed that a credible election is the only way to address bad governance in Nigeria.

He said: “The 2027 election will be a defining moment for Nigeria. Anybody who plans to rig should be ready to die. It is rig and die.

Kaduna: Police restrict movement ahead of Saturday by-election

“Because by that time, our eye go clear well well. E don clear small o. What we are about to see in 2026 will make Nigerians decide whether to continue in this manner or to cause a revolution to happen in this country.

“The solution to bad governance in Nigeria can only come when our votes begin to count. So, our concern right now should be how our votes would count in 2027.”

Speaking on the Lagos State Government’s recent decision to rename the ‘Charly Boy Bus Stop’ in the Bariga area of the state, the septuagenarian described the move as “outright silly and a bloody distraction”.

Charly Boy added that his main concern is how to rescue millions of Nigerians from hardship.
