Rotary club builds medical lab in Kano

The Rotary Club has built and donated a medical laboratory to Kawaji community in Kano as part of its efforts to improve health care delivery in the area.

Kawaji community’s primary health care has been lacking a functional medical laboratory for long.

The president of Rotary Club in Kano, Akin Opeyemi, said the club refocused its attention to build the lab because of its significance to the people.

Opeyemi noted that the club constructed a building 12 years ago in Sharada which focused on social development intervention projects for the benefit of society.

According to him, after consultations last year with relevant stakeholders to have a lab project for the benefit of humanity, the club committed resources to actualising it.

He said the laboratory became necessary following its dire need by most communities across the state, noting that Kawaji was blessed to have been identified and selected for the project after examination of the facility.

He, therefore, called on the members of the community to maintain and make judicious use of the facility for the benefit of the residents.

The District Head of Kawaji, Umaru Kawaji, who officially inaugurated the project, commended the club for identifying with his community in their moment of need.

He assured the club of their continued support and prayers for it to continue to do more of the intervention.
