The Abubakar Bukola Saraki Foundation owned by the former Senate President has paid the medical expenses of Veteran Nollywood actor, John Okafor, popularly known as Mr Ibu.

This was made known in a statement shared on the foundation’s Facebook page on Friday, October 20, 2023.

The foundation stated: “The Abubakar Bukola Saraki Foundation is honoured to have extended support to Mr John Okafor also known as Mr. Ibu, a renowned comedic icon who has graced our screens and brought joy and laughter to countless homes over the past four decades.

“When we learned of his recent health challenges and the financial burdens associated with his medical treatment, we felt a deep sense of responsibility to assist in any way we could. We promptly paid off his entire medical expenses as of Wednesday.

“We encourage everyone who can to come forward and assist in any capacity, whether it’s through financial contributions, moral support, or prayers.

“We wish him a swift and complete recovery.”

Mr Ibu recently solicited financial assistance from Nigerians over a health challenge that might lead to the amputation of his legs.

The 62-year-old actor, who took to his Instagram page to seek public assistance in a video clip, said he has been down and has been on admission for many weeks.

He said the medical doctors have told him that they might resort to cutting off his leg if they exhausted the options at hand.

Mr Ibu, therefore, appealed to Nigerians to remember him in praying, as well as support him financially to enable him have adequate treatment over the ailment.
