Security operatives stop PDP BoT members from meeting at party secretariat

Security operatives, on Monday, June 30, 2025, stopped the members of the Peoples Democratic Party ( PDP) Board of Trustees (BoT) from holding a meeting at the party headquarters in Abuja.

Security operatives prevented the BoT members from entering the National Executive Committee (NEC) hall to hold their meeting slated for Monday morning.

The BoT has now moved the meeting to the Yar’Adua Centre in the Central Business District area of Abuja.

The BoT members had condemned the pronouncement of Samuel Anyanwu as national secretary of the PDP.

The BoT also accused the acting national chairman of the party, Umar Damagum, of “gross abuse of office” for announcing Anyanwu as the national secretary.

The board equally rejected the rescheduling of the party’s NEC meeting by Damagum.
