Senate Presidency: Akpabio, Jibrin’ll move Nigeria forward — Masari

Katsina State Governor, Aminu Masari, says the immediate past Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Sen. Godswill Akpabio, and Barau Jibrin will move Nigeria forward as President and Deputy Senate President of the 10th Senate, respectively.

Masari described Akpabio and Barau as committed members of the All Progressives Congress (PDP) and development personified public officers, who would be ready to join hands with the President-elect, Bola Tinubu, to move the nation forward.

The governor said this while receiving the duo alongside other senators-elect from Katsina State at the state Governor’s Lodge in Abuja on Sunday, May 14.

He called on all senators-elect to rally round and vote Akpabio and Jibrin into office as President of the Senate and Deputy for the smooth and speedy take-off of the administration from May 29, 2023.

Reacting, Senator Akpabio thanked the Governor Masari and his colleagues for their support, promising to carry all parts of the country along without party affiliation.

He said: “The 10th Senate must work for the progress of this country. The 10th Senate will strive to bring back smiles on the faces of Nigerians.”
