Soldier stabs trader to death over carpet in Ondo

A soldier has allegedly stabbed a 27-year-old trader to death over the price of a carpet in Akure, the Ondo State capital.

It was gathered that an incident occurred in the Arakale area of Akure on Saturday, March 30, 2024.

An eyewitness, who identified himself as Chibuka, told journalists that trouble started when the trader tried to stop the soldier from beating and harassing a co-trader, who was a nursing mother, over the price of a carpet.

Chibuka disclosed that the interference led to an argument between the deceased and the soldier.
