Stock market opens week bearish as investors lose N984bn

Trading on the Nigerian stock market opened the week on a bearish note on Monday, June 15, 2026, with investors losing N984 billion.

This is due to widespread profit-taking, particularly in financial stocks, which dragged the market lower.

As a result, the market’s year-to-date return moderated to 56.29 per cent.

Market sentiment remained weak, as reflected in the market breadth, which closed negative with 48 decliners against 17 advancers.
