Super Eagles forward Samuel Chukwueze loses mother after brief illness

Super Eagles winger Samuel Chukwueze has been thrown into mourning following the death of his mother after a brief illness.

The sad news was made public by his brother, David Chukwueze, who shared emotional tributes on his Instagram story to announce her passing. In a series of posts, he expressed deep grief, writing, “Can’t even post your picture to say RIP Mum,” “My forever love just left me without saying goodbye,” and “You didn’t even carry your grandchild.”

Chukwueze, who plays for Italian club AC Milan and was part of the Super Eagles squad that finished third at the recently concluded Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, has not yet publicly reacted to the loss.

The development comes barely days after Super Eagles captain, Wilfred Ndidi, also lost his father in a fatal car accident, casting a shadow over the national team camp.
