Suspected laptop thief forced to dance after arrest at NOUN

A suspected thief was allegedly forced to dance after being apprehended for stealing laptops from offices at the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN).

According to an eyewitness, Ali Mustapha, the suspect was arrested by security personnel at the institution on Tuesday, June 24, 2026.

A video circulating online showed the suspect dancing to the sound of drums and other musical instruments while surrounded by onlookers.

The footage also captured the moment an individual struck the suspect on the head, causing him to fall to the ground.

Details surrounding the alleged theft and the suspect’s identity were not immediately available, while authorities have yet to issue an official statement on the incident.
