A teenager, Yusuf Malam-Gwani, has drowned in a well at Bachirawa, Kwanar Madugu, Ungogo Local Government Area of Kano State.
The Director of the Kano State Fire Service, Sani Anas, confirmed the incident via a statement issued on Thursday, February 5, 2026.
Anas said the 18-year-old victim was brought out dead from the well and was handed over to Ward Head of Bachirawa Quarters, Jibrin Isah.
In another development, an eight year-old boy, identified as Abdussalam Ibrahim, fell into a well at Kofar Yamma, Karaye town, Karaye Local Government Area of Kano State.

He said the Service, upon receiving the report, immediately deployed its officers to the scene.
