Teenager rescued after climbing billboard in Kano in bid to see governor

A tense scene unfolded in Kano as a teenager, believed to be around 17 or 18 years old, climbed a tall billboard near the Gadar Lado bridge, demanding the presence of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf before he would come down.

The incident drew a large crowd and triggered an emergency response involving personnel from both the federal and state fire services, along with other security agencies.

The coordinated effort led to the successful rescue of the teenager after a prolonged standoff.

The youth, visibly shaken but unharmed, was immediately transported to a hospital for medical evaluation.

His reasons for the daring act remain unknown, though it has sparked conversations about the growing frustration and mental health challenges facing some young Nigerians.

The rescue brought immense relief to bystanders who had watched anxiously as the drama unfolded.
