Three-year-old girl raped to death in Jigawa

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Jigawa State Command, is investigating the horrific rape and murder of a three-year-old girl in the Kiyawa Local Government Area.

The victim, identified as Harira Yakubu Bala, a resident of Sabon Gari, Kiyawa, was reported missing by her parents on Tuesday.

Her lifeless body was tragically discovered on Wednesday in a nearby bush, bearing multiple injuries.

ASC. Badruddeen Tijjani Mahmud, the Public Relations Officer for the NSCDC Jigawa State Command, confirmed the incident in a statement, expressing the command’s “deep concern and condemnation.”

Upon receiving the distress call, NSCDC personnel from the Kiyawa Divisional Office quickly mobilized, secured the scene, and evacuated the body to a hospital for a medical examination and further investigation.

The examination tragically confirmed that the child had been raped, molested, and murdered by persons who are yet to be identified.

State Commandant CC Muhammad Kabiru Ingawa has since directed the Intelligence and Investigation Department to work closely with the Kiyawa Divisional Office and other security agencies.

The goal is to ensure the swift arrest and prosecution of the perpetrators responsible for this “heinous act.”

The NSCDC strongly condemned the crime and reaffirmed its commitment to protecting the lives and property of residents, especially children and other vulnerable members of society.

The remains of the deceased have been released to the family for burial in accordance with Islamic rites.

The Command urged residents to remain calm, vigilant, and to promptly report any suspicious movements or persons to the nearest security formation to aid in the ongoing investigation.
