Timi Dakolo denies £4,106 debt, threatens lawsuit

Nigerian singer Timi Dakolo has denied allegations that he owes £4,106 to Revolve Entertainment over expenses linked to a proposed United Kingdom tour, warning that he may take legal action against the promoter and its representative, Otis Ayodele Kubeyinje, popularly known as Baddest DJ Timmy.

In a statement issued through his lawyers, Whitestone Solicitors and Consultancy, on July 18, 2026, Dakolo described the claims as false and defamatory.

The solicitors said the alleged debt covered expenses such as venue bookings, graphic design, website and domain registration, video editing, visa deposits and consultation fees, but insisted their client had no contractual obligation to pay those costs.

According to the legal team, the performance agreement signed by both parties clearly placed responsibility for securing venues, technical production, flights, accommodation, transportation and visa-related expenses on Revolve Entertainment as the promoter.

They added that only approved advertising and promotional costs were recoverable under the agreement, while no deposit was payable to Dakolo.

The lawyers said the planned tour was eventually cancelled because Revolve Entertainment allegedly failed to meet key production requirements, particularly in relation to sound, lighting and other technical arrangements required for the performances.

They maintained that Dakolo could not be held responsible for expenses voluntarily incurred by the promoter or costs not approved under the terms of the agreement.

The statement also noted that Dakolo never announced or promoted the tour publicly because the promoter had not fulfilled its contractual obligations.

Dakolo’s lawyers further accused Kubeyinje and Revolve Entertainment of making defamatory statements against the singer on social media, alleging they referred to him with derogatory names and published information that violated his privacy.

They also alleged that the pair engaged in repeated acts of harassment, intimidation and cyberbullying, describing the conduct as actionable under the laws of both Nigeria and the United Kingdom.

The legal team said Dakolo is considering civil and criminal proceedings in both countries to protect his reputation and privacy.

They demanded an immediate end to the alleged defamatory publications, the removal of all offending posts, a public retraction, a written apology within seven days, and a commitment to cease any further harassment.

The lawyers warned that failure to comply with the demands would leave Dakolo with no option but to pursue all legal remedies available to him before the appropriate courts and relevant authorities in Nigeria and the United Kingdom.
