Toluwani Odukoya speaks on marriage breakdown, ministry journey

The Associate Senior Pastor of The Fountain of Life Church, Toluwani Odukoya, has opened up about her broken marriage and how personal tragedies shaped her faith and ministry journey.

In a recent interview on Truthtable, shared via her YouTube channel, Odukoya revealed that her separation was due to circumstances beyond her control.

“I’ll say I’m separated. Most of you don’t know that, and it has shaped my life. It was circumstances beyond my control,” she said, describing the end of her marriage as comparable to a “death.”

Between 2021 and 2023, Odukoya also faced the loss of her stepmother, her father’s twin sister, and her father, the late Senior Pastor of The Fountain of Life Church, Taiwo Odukoya.

Reflecting on her marriage, the 40-year-old clarified that separation does not always mean failure.

“My ex-husband is a great man. But if God doesn’t ordain two people to be together and you force-fit yourselves, the likelihood of staying together is very low,” she stated.

Despite her personal struggles, Odukoya embraced her pastoral calling, saying: “When the call came, I told God, ‘You know the baggage I’m trying to navigate. But if You’ve called me, then You’ve put something in me.’ I just decided to keep my eyes on Jesus.”

Odukoya further credited her late father and siblings for providing support during her most difficult seasons.

“My dad fought for me. My family encouraged me. That embrace added to my self-esteem and self-worth,” she added.

Pastor Taiwo Odukoya passed away in the United States on August 7, 2023. His son, Jimmy Odukoya, now leads the church as Senior Pastor, serving alongside Toluwani.
