Transfer: Inter in talks to sign Lookman as Arsenal yet to agree Gyokeres deal

Inter Milan are in talks to sign Atalanta forward Ademola Lookman.

After reaching an agreement in principle with the Nigeria international, Inter are now seeking an agreement with his club.

Atalanta, who won the Europa League in 2024 with Lookman the hat-trick hero in the final, is asking for at least £43 million (€50m) to release him.

But Inter are confident in a promise made to the player’s entourage last summer that he can go for £34.6 million (€40m). Inter would take him on these terms and, in fact, will not raise their offer, Sky Sports reported.

If a deal cannot be done, the alternatives Inter Milan would look at are Juventus’s Nico Gonzalez, Manchester United’s Jadon Sancho, and Chelsea’s Christopher Nkunku.

Liverpool have opened talks with Eintracht Frankfurt to sign Hugo Ekitike after being told by Newcastle Alexander Isak is not for sale.

Newcastle are assessing their options after having their own club-record £70 million bid for Ekitike turned down.

Bayern Munich are expected to go back in for Luis Diaz despite Liverpool rejecting a £58.5m bid and reiterating he is not for sale.

Nottingham Forest have written to both Tottenham and the agent of Morgan Gibbs-White, threatening legal action over Spurs’ approach for the midfielder.

Arsenal are advancing in talks over a new long-term contract for forward Ethan Nwaneri.

Arsenal are yet to reach an agreement with Sporting over the add-ons in a potential deal for Viktor Gyokeres.

Noni Madueke and Cristhian Mosquera are set to be announced by Arsenal after both had medicals earlier this week.

Manchester United and AC Milan are among the clubs keeping an eye on Nicolas Jackson’s situation at Chelsea.

Juventus are pushing for Manchester United’s Jadon Sancho – and have made an inquiry about Marcus Rashford.

Arsenal Women have signed striker Olivia Smith from Liverpool Women for a world-record fee of £1 million.

Manchester United have reportedly been handed a major boost in their pursuit of Aston Villa star Ollie Watkins.
